While FF12 wasn't flawless, I feel it refreshed the franchise getting rid of archaic gameplay and moving forward towers a more promising future.

Oh well, back to battle screen transitions in FF13 yippeee!

I'm glad to see Khuutra is trying as hard as he can to defend this little underrated gem. I'm also glad to see we share the exact same opinion about every aspect of the game.

This is the evolution the series needed. Sadly, FFXIII is going back to being a battle to battle screen transition RPG. Yippeee!...

I'm glad you agree, but I wouldn't call FFXII underrated - I believe it is tied as the highest rated game in the series on Metacritic. I think of it as being divisive, appealing to a different value set than most entries in the series so far.

I hate to say it, but Final Fantasy XII is more for people who likes theater and literature than for people who like movies. But that's true of a lot of Matsuno's work.

But the transition itself is an illusion. It just zooms in and then zooms out. The backgrounds and enemies stay the same, you see a bar pop up in the bottom of the screen and the music changes.

OK, I can agree with this definition of underrated. What I really meant here is that people on the Internet seem to be in majority in saying that FFXII is a piece of crap that shouldn't have existed (or something drastic like that), or that it shouldn't be considered a Final Fantasy game.

I agree. But there are many people who love the game - this topic exemplifies the divide. The haters are just loudest.

1 more thing... the last battle...damn I don't think I'll ever had to face someone sooo damn easy I killed him in 4 mins and my character armor/stats sucked when I faced him. I actually cried beacuse he was so easy.
