An article on touchArcade revealed today that EA will be bringing a prequel to BioWare's Mass Effect 2 to the app store, and hinted that according to the sales they recieve they may also bring other titles, like their Dragon Age RPG in the future.

BioWare's 'Mass Effect' Coming to iPhone as 'Jacob's Story'

Fans of BioWare's action RPGMass Effect have something to look forward to.  According to Joystiq, it was revealed in a survey taken by a reader that EA will be bringing Mass Effect: Jacob's Story to the App Store.

The iPhone version is a top-down shooter, punctuated with comic book-style sequences, featuring Jacob Taylor, "a biotic-powered super-soldier who stumbles across a plot to terrorize civilization's greatest beacon of hope."  Jacob's Story will serve as a predecessor to the upcoming Xbox 360 and PC title Mass Effect 2, introducing players to some of the characters' backstories.

According to Joystiq, depending on the success of the title, EA and BioWare may look into expanding the game into an entire series.  The survey also suggests that  mobile versions of the upcoming Dragon Age RPG are under consideration.

Great news for Mass Effect fans and a title I will be picking up day 1 (and its only supposed to be $2.99 which is sweet)

I wish they would as well (I will eventually have a PSP and would love good RPGs on it) but you have to consider that this game probably took only a few months and probably less than 100k to develop and they will quickly making pure profit off it, and it promotes their franchises and their developer name - all for little effort, kinda hard to pass up.
