I dont know if this is a serious thread or a sony bashing thread, but whatever...

My thoughts on Infamous - except for a couple trailers, the majority of it hasn't looked THAT great. It seems overhyped. But it seems everyone thats played it (IGN most notably) absolutly LOVE it. So I'm interested, but its one of those that I will definetly wait for the reviews on.

MAG might not review well, but I bet it will sell quite a bit. So I guess it depends on how you rate a "flop".

2.  Actually, almost all PS3 games get overhyped.  That's why this game is so easy and so much fun.

I think it's because there is no games going to be launched for the 360 in 2009, only that Halo expansion pack thingy which will sell well even though it's completely over rated.  On the Wii side of things nobody has the time to list every 3rd party game that's released.

What exactly is the definition of over-hyped?
And when does a game move from "hyped" to "over hyped"?
I've seen fans of all 3 consoles get "excited" for upcoming games and others get abusive and then accusing them of "over-hyping" so I'm wondering.

Whilst I'm aware it's your thread, I can't help but feel this is just a badly disguised attempt at Sony bashing.

I'm inclined to agree with the last statement.  Hence, I'm locking it.

well those two games(lair, haze) were not first/second party. so the game has got to be a third party. or a second party

so i have to go for mag

because sucker punch usually make awesome games. therefore i really do not see infamous sucking.

where as the llast socom got some really low reviews, and mag is like that just on a more massive scale, how can't it suck

just because people get excited for a game doesnt mean its over hyped... infamous has gotten pretty positive previews so far so i would scratch that off yal list... lair and haze never had positive feedback
