Forums - PC - Is it possible for two computers to run the same copy of Empire: Total War?

The painstaking idiotic process of Empire: Total War installation is making me puke. My brother wants to install it in his computer and aside from needing an internet connection to make it work, the CD key seems to have been "activated" already for my computer and therefore unusable anymore.

Question: Is it physically possible for two computers to run the same copy of Empire: Total War?

if you steam it should be possible to do

logon with your steam account on the computer that doesn't have it and then install through steam

you just can't use both computers at once

I don't think you can... but try this.  Login into PC 1 with your steam details and go into offline mode, then Login into PC 2 with the same steam details and run both in off-line mode.  I never tried this and always wandered if it would work.

Try that and post back if it works.

PC gaming rules.....

well what we wanna do is play against each other. can we actually do this with the same copy?

(CMON NJ5 GET IN HERE)

Not with steam as far as I know. Your best bet is to run them both in offline mode. If that doesn't work find yourself a torrent and ut it on your friend's machine and play some LAN.

I also bought a copy of Empire and as far as I know you can get it to run offline on 2 computers however you can't both be online at the same time.

This is one of the reasons why I don't bother buying too many PC games. Only blizzard PC games from now on.

i didn't think creative assembly would go to such lengths to restrict access to their game. this is turning me off.

maybe, but how do you get it to install on the second computer?

lol it's bugrimmar and his questions again.

Did you buy a new PC yet?

It's all about steam restrictions, so those are what you have to look into. I am sure that you can install on multiple PCs, but maybe it has to be the same steam account. You won't be able to play against each other though
