Spoken like a true car fan. That is why Forza leapfrogged, beat, and then spun around and anally raped the GT series in my eyes.

Polyphony has a goldmine on their hands. If they continue their steadfast refusal to move forward with innovation, I will continue to put the franchise in my rear view mirror.

Sony has a real chance to do something special with GT5. If they don't match Forza 2 physically and optional-wise, it's a failure. I really want GT5 to be Forza 2 plus options and graphics but at this point, I'm pretty damned skeptical.

I think Rallysport Challenge 2 on the Xbox was my favorite racer last gen. Really fantastic game. If you've never checked it out, do so. This gen it's Grid.

Couldn't agree more, fantastic game that never gets boring!

GT selling 15M on a system that hit over 120M was a great feat, but that was when it had no real competition.

When GT5 is released, it will be competing with Forza 3 (which will probably have been released before GT5) and be selling on a system with a much lower installed base than the PS2.

I'm guessing that without bundling, it'll do 4-5M sales. The GT series is losing steam. I have been through every GT made to 100% compeltion but I am at the point no that I don't even care if GT5 comes out. While I wait for that for what seems an eternity I played Forza 2 and now I see no reason at all to go back or remain excited for a game that doesn't exist yet.

Alot of the people that bought that $40 demo were more than a little dissapointed the game hadn' evolved in any way besides from a visual standpoint.

Totally agree!

I'll be in line to buy Forza 3 and not GT5 (I own 360 and PS3), the "Demo" was a huge let down, superb graphics in the replays (not great in game though) but crap gameplay, handling, physics, no damage, really was a joke of a game,

I think Forza 3 will beat GT5 sales wise (and review scores too) specially if Microsoft bundle it which no doubt they will (360 always outsells ps3, if forza 3 and GT5 are bundled Forza 3 will beat it because 360 outsells ps3, not hard to work out), the 360 has a much larger install base meaning Forza 3 will have a better chance of outselling GT5,

It really is a no brainier but try telling that to sony fanboys.....

I dont understand how you live on the planet earth and have formed these opinions. You will be proven so wrong in time.

Do you think before you write things? This is absolutely the most unbelievable post probably ever. You think Forza stands any chance in hell of outselling GT5,  Gran Tur-fucking- rismo?

You are out of your mind, absolutely crazy.

Totally nuts.

btw, I have both consoles, and I might buy Forza also, but this illogical nonsense that you have posted here followed by "try telling that to Sony fanboys" can not exist without a discussion.

Ohh, god the frustration is choking me.

I cant even think of a hypothetical that would be an accurate parallel to what you have posted here.

like ;  I bet sega will release another console at E3 of which has secured exclusivity to the next gta and all EA games...

Even a prediction like that caries more validity than the inconceivable nonsense you pretend to believe.

Ohh , who do you think you are.. jesus.. you're just gonna go and turn water into whine, by turning forza into anything greater than GT5.

I need to take a breather, anafalactic shock is setting in here...

Lol, what a complete muppet!

And yes I do very much stick by what I said in my post, If Forza 3 gets bundled with 360's and the game is advertised as the 360's answer to GT then YES I think it could outsell GT5 very easily considering the huge difference in the two consoles install base and how the 360 is always outselling the PS3, how can GT5 outsell Forza 3 if they are both bundled and the 360 is always outselling the PS3, exactly!,

Ohh, god the frustration is choking me.

I cant even think of a hypothetical that would be an accurate parallel to what you have posted here. ha ha!

You certainly know how to fall for the "GT hype" so well done, give yourself a golden star for being such a supportive GT supporter!

P.S, I will also place a bet with you on Forza 3 vs GT5 sales as I can't wait to see you eat your words in your post lol^

The post above is shockingly remedial. Obvious answer is that the 360 wont ALWAYS be outselling the ps3 if gt were to perform better than forza.
I'm not saying its set in stone but its about as likely as kz2 topping halo 3.

Wow. So you have lost all credibility.

And you sir, OP, have little to no knowledge of sales. The first full GT on the console always sells the best on the console. How many consoles did the PS2 have at the launch of GT3?

So how many of the 3 million people who bought GT5:Prologe bought it thinking it was the new GT? You know, like everyone who bought Halo Wars mistook it for the new Halo.

It's obviously going to sell well, but I agree that it is showing its age in terms of innovative gameplay and gameplay mechanics. Being outsold by Forza 3 would pretty much be a nail in the coffin for GT if that were to happen, or at least a serious wakeup call to make some serious changes to the game. To me, all of the GT games have been rehashes of the original with prettier graphics and more cars, but not a signigicant amount of much else.

Not only Forza but NFS: Shift, maybe not in the same league but it's competition all the same.

As far as sales go.. We'll see.. You have to look at WHY GT3 sold so much, was it bundling? Did it innovate heavily? Was it a huge step up from it's predecesors? Why did it sell so well and what does GT5 have in common with it as far as what the game is doing compared to other racers or other games.

GT sells heavily to the casual consumer, a consumer base that the PS3 is currently lacking compared with the PS2 so I think if it can get close to 10 Million, it's done very very well.

Come on its not like GT never had comp before, NFS was much bigger comp before.  While as i said before Froza 2 didnt even dent prologue sales.

And GT4 went up agianst Forza and still sold like GT/GT2 so the GT/Forza battle aready happend and GT decisivly won.

Yes it was big step from GT2 just like GT5p has already shown that the full GT5 will be a massive step from GT4.  Its also the first full GT of this Gen those sale best.

Enough of this bundling questioning, to even question if it will be bundled is asinine.

GT sales to harcore racer fan car fans, PS3 lacking old casual mon and dads owning the console will not hurt its sales at all.  Just look at GT3 and GT4 sales GT4 sold less to that casual fanbase then GT3 did to the more hardcore early console adopters.

And wow Forza3 to out sale GT5 LMAO

Especially seeing how histoy shows this

Forza2 - 4m
GT5p - 3m (no psn sales included)

Best from Forza series has sold on a "demos" level yet you think it will some how magically sky rocket to out sale the full GT5 ??? based on what other then delusional thinking.

I already posted this before at its best Forza can only steal some saless in NA Europe has proven thsi gen that its still heavily pro Gran Turismo and Japan the battle is %100 GTs victory.

We will see when they are both out won't we.....

GT5 will sell a pretty good amount but I would be willing to be it won't sell as much as GT4 because:

  1. It is a smaller base.  GT4 may have released to a smaller userbase but it was still out with the 100+ million userbase.  The PS3 will be lucky to get half that.
  2. Sony has lost a lot of ground in Europe and that's where this franchise is huge correct?
  3. There's more out there now
