They are ridiculous, a 120GB HDD costs about £100

Ridiculously bad voice acting. Watch a few youtube videos, and if it doesn't bother you, get it.
To answer your questions.
1. There are no technical difficulties that cannot be overcome be changing your resolution, and using the component cable that came with the system. There is no need to install the game. Further more the higher resolution would not be missed. This game is not a visual juggernaut. Let alone one that can be visually stimulating beyond the epileptic kind of way.
2. Trust me the movies are not worth the effort to watch. The dialog is as corny as the Fourth of July in Kansas. The story is bland, and uninspired. How one can marry the philosophy of a prime directive with annoying retarded characters is beyond me, but they managed to in the most asinine way. Simply put it is a highlight of the game that you can skip the movies, and get a text synopsis of what unfolded in a twenty minute movie.
3. This game actually has excessive content. So much content in fact that your probably not going to exhaust it before it bores you out of your mind, and you move on. I estimate your looking at somewhere close to three hundred hours total. That is if your intent upon doing all of the quests.
4. There in lies the problem the side quests are the worst kind of crap. These are the same menial chores that are so lacking in reward that they are simply an impediment on the way to an achievement. We are talking fetch quests, collecting quests, and the purely evil crafting quests. Basically for the last your running back to your ship to craft, and then running back to replenish the ingredient, and then running back to the ship. Why you say, well they cap the resources you can carry at a measly twenty. So guess what extra content will probably be. That is right this same annoying shit.
To drive my point home there are no technical issues that are not easily resolved by changing a cable, and your resolution. They have more content then you can use anyway. The extra content you would get probably would not be worth it. The games combat is decent, but after a hundred hours it is going to be getting fairly stale. This game is Infinite Undiscovery with some tweaks. All in all it is neither an improvement or a loss. In fact I think Infinite Undiscovery was a bit more entertaining, and rewarding.
My advice is defer the purchase for a few months, and buy the 360 version at half price. The game is an eight out of ten at best depending on your dullness threshold. There really is no reason to wait half a year to be picking this game up, and even less reason to buy it at full price.

This really is ridicoulous. No one should have to lower their resolution on a console to get the game to play a acceptable level. This is why I like console gaming and not PC gaming.
Why are you talking about cables? Both my PS3 & 360 are connected via HDMI
@outlawauron
Mine is not to excuse the incompetence of the developer. I am just telling you the situation so do not shoot the messenger. On a side not are you serious this has been a running gag this generation. Developers fucking this up on both high end consoles, and most locking the resolutions down. Which is what would happen with a port. After all if they cannot pull it off on a 360. A console they have more experience with. How likely is it they are going to try on the PS3.
@Munkeh111
I assumed your 360 originally came with a component cable. Anyway if you do not have a component cable then you can always try altering the resolution through the system. Honestly I have never played any of my games in progressive scan. The best I have on my television is 1080i, and 720p. I prefer wide screen. That said this for whatever reason does help with some games that have freezing issues.
Well my TV can do upto 1080p, maybe those are some of the reasons that nanza had some many freezing problems. I install most of my games anyway when I can

I know, i'm just laughing that it's the only viable answer.

You might also want to think how much more is extra content when for ToV it was only one supporting character? Late ports between consoles really didnt yield much extra content - other examples BioShock. But take mine with a grain of salt as I only own a 360 and am extremely hungry for another JRPG already, even after The Last Remnant. Feel I have been waiting for SO4 for ages! |
Tales of Vesperia for PS3 is much more than just 1 extra supporting character. It is getting Flynn along with Patty. It is also getting new Mystic Artes and from what I know, the ability to combine Mystic Artes. It supposedly will have added storyline to go along with the theatrical release as well as branching storylines. New bosses as well.
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
Currently playing:
Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

We also get double the voice acting. More script addition, more skits, more dungeons, etc.
