Forums - Gaming - Should I wait for Star Ocean 4 to come to PS3?

i didnt think the issues some ppl have should keep u from getting this good rpg, i love this game. put over 100hrs into it now. :) also if its going to come to the ps3 it wont happen untill sometime in 2010 in japan and maybe, maybe late 2010 in the states. so get the 360 version and enjoy the game. ppl waiting for a game just to have small extra content is foolish to me. for example "tales of vesperia" ps3 version , the extra content they are giving ps3 owners is a joke, big damn deal 1 extra character and some small changes to the game. these small changes , makes u think u are getting the complete or real version when u arent , all u are getting is a $60 port. simple as that.

As far as extra content goes I wouldn't worry about it. I have played the game for over 110 hours and only have 440 points unlocked. I haven't experienced any freezing but I installed all the discs to the hard drive.

Who knows if it will be released for the PS3, but if you interested, I say just buy the 360 version.

Star Ocean 4 is coming out on the 5th of June, but there are issues with it. Nazna's review was critical of freezing problems, and I think there have been problems with slowdowns. Also, IGN's review highlighted backtracking issues over disc changing.

I know the game hasn't been announced for PS3 yet, but I am leaning towards waiting to get it on a blu-ray disc, most likely with extra content.

Really depends on two things.

1. Are you hungry for JRPG?

2. What's your backlog look like?

I would stay away from purchasing it unless you really want another JRPG and you don't have anything else to play.

1. I am not that hungry, I still have to finish IU and do a bit of LO, but I do fear WKC and then FFXIII early next year

2. Not that great now, apart from achievement and trophy huting, though I do plan to get several cheap games in June, I'll get inFamous the week before as well, with the U2;AT beta

Yeah, so I should probably wait a bit, especially as it did not get that great reviews as well

Then I'd wait to either a good deal or a lack of good games comes along. Besides, IU and LO are both better games.

If you want to get rid of any potential technical issues then installing to HDD is the only answer. The question that is more relevant to you then is do you possess a big enough HDD to install it. I have a 120G so when I get it all disks will be installed and then I've got no worries. Just a case of waiting now.

Well the install is a concern for me, I only have a 20GB HDD, so I can only install 1 disc at a time

I have a 20 GB HDD too.

Munkeh, honestly, I would wait for the game to come out on PS3.

The issues it has on the 360 were a killer for me, I almost regret buying it, even though I've been a huge Star Ocean fan for years.

We'll miss you George.

That may still be workable the game is setup so that you don't need to use disc 1 once you make it to disc 2. The trouble comes in with disc 2 and 3 there is a fair amount of swaping between them. I think it takes up about 14 GB to install two discs.

You'll be fine with 12 GB.

Yeah, because there are a lot of Square Enix titles on ps3 right now

Come on you can't be serious, you have  a 360 and want to wait a year to get it on ps3 and IF it comes?

But war... war never changes
