Really doesnt mean anything without documenting what the releases on or around this period.

Makes absolutely no difference. All major HD releases (prince of persia, hawx etc) were multiplat with only 1 exclusive on PS3 and X360 - Haze and Naruto Broken Bond, and there were quite a few niche Wii titles released.

Revenue =/= Profit. Wii almost certainly gives the highest profits out of the three.

Opinions pulled out of ass do not = fact.

Did any of the releases on the PS3 outsell the 360 counterpart.  Otherwise how did the revenue for the PS3 end up higher.  Was it an old title on the 360 that released later on the PS3 that did it?

Edit: Well after just a little looking in this period Haze (Sales of 750K) and the PS3 version of Enchanted Arms (Sales of 160K) released with no 360 counterpart (Enchanted Arms was in a previous year) while on the 360 there was Naruto (320K).   So easy way to see why revenue was higher on PS3.

So? Rainbow Six Vegas 2 sold approx 900k extra on X360, wiping out extra sales of any exclusive on PS3.

It seems that PS3 revenue per game sold is higher as unit sales would be lower across the board. Good thing for PS3 owners and for gamers is that Ubisoft will be supporting PS3 in the long term and exclusives for either console may be a thing of the past.

Which very well may mean Splinter Cell Conviction may possibly be multiplat.

Well since Rainbow Six Vegas 2 was released in March 2008 which was the previous fiscal year the majority of sales would have happened in the previous fiscal year. Every order from retailers before April 1 2008 would be included in the previous fiscal year numbers.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Also interesting is that for Ubisoft, Europe is seemingly the more important market with 54% sales. I suppose that's in keeping with the PS3 as the console with the most sales as it's stronger in Europe then the US.

If PS3 is the best console for Ubisoft then why is it that PS3 will have no big exclusives while 360 gets Splinter Cell and Wii gets Red Steel 2 and Rabbids Go Home?

BTW I do have a non-fanboy answer but I'd love to hear everyone elses reasoning

Can someone explain to me why I, or anyone other than Ubisoft, should give a damn about which platform generates how much profit for Ubisoft. Particularly as it appears there is virtually nothing in it.

The same reason your on a sales website, companies making $$$ on which you do not get a penny does things to you.

The Wii numbers going up is no surprise seeing all the Petz game to have released on the console.

Puffy the reason is that the game was announced years ago and exclusivity was sealed then. What is your answer, that Ubisoft just felt like making less money from the game?

@puffy. You'd better ask Ubisoft, I don't think anyone here works for them.

LOL @ RPG.. No actually I think Ubisoft want to make MORE money from each game..

Obviously Wii is easy to answer.. Exclusives generally sell better on Wii than multiplats do and that's why you don't see AC2 Wii. Instead Ubisoft have two strong brands that are exclusive to Wii in Rabbids Go Home and Red Steel 2 both which will be high quality AAA games.

In the case of Splinter Cell, yeah the exclusivity was likely locked a while ago and I thinkhaving that title as an exclusive may help it in the end..

I think people should look at Republic's post. It tells more of the story... a lot more of the story.

It's a website/forum about sales, so platform revenue discussion is naturally relevant to many people on here.

Would you still have reacted with such vitriol if it had been 20-19 in the 360's favour?

Right, like I thought. I still dont care. I, like others here, WANT exclusives.

Exclusives are good for the future of gaming.

The point is that it's good for PS3 getting games (and for PS3 remaining lead platform) and increasingly bad for 360's chances of getting Ubisoft exclusives, unless there's moneyhatting involved.

I agree that exclusives are awesome.  First parties are going to need to make them, though.

Euros and dollars aren't worth the same.

Nevermind this little fact disrupt your attempt at scrounging a few ounces of propaganda.

Keep grinding that axe, little boy.
