So are there no Xbox fans who are upset at the death of an Xbox icon and mascot, along with the game that pushed the original Xbox? Are you guys really just that happy to get any exclusive? There's no going around it. The gameplay is completely different, there's nothing similar about it at all. This game isn't Splinter Cell =( I'm getting really depressed people, isn't there a single SC fan who's upset at this? Isn't anyone upset that Sam Fisher literally looks like a fucking emo now, instead of the dark bad ass he was?

I have had 3-4 posts saying the same exact thing, and the only conclusion I have is that either everyone here who posted never played the game or enjoyed it. How can you be excited for this game when you know it's not even going to be what it's name used to mean, but only a few old shitty ass clips?

The more pages you go back, the more negative it becomes. The forum is pretty empty now due to censorship, disgust, and lack of news/info.
Edit: By pages, I mean the entire forum's not the threads'.

I think using the word "death" is pushing it a bit, you don't know anything about this game to talk about it, for all we know the developers could have changed it since the last time we saw it, hence the delay.
All I am saying is wait for the game to come out, and sam fisher is not an xbox icon or a mascot, that title belongs to master chief of halo, the splinter cell series just sold better on xbox because it had better graphics and online since the xbox was vastly superior to the ps2.
So no one is upset because sam fisher is alive and well, and the game is coming this fall exclusively for xbox 360, why would anyone be upset over that.

I'm making my assumptions from the last reliable source we had, which is the footage we got a few years back. Like I said again, I HOPE they changed it back to the original gameplay, but I highly doubt it. Splinter Cell is considered, despite being multi-plat, an Xbox game. The trailer I showed for Chaos Theory even says (For Xbox) in the beginning. This game was the only thing that made me jealous when I had a PS2. The guy's eyes and googles are green for god's sake.
I'm not upset over it's exclusivity. I would have if I wanted Convictions. I'm upset at how either Ubisoft's management, or Ubisoft Montreal itself destroyed the core element of a game, which is the gameplay. Mario 64 can be considered a change within the Mario franchise, it's still a platformer and has some similar elements to the original while there's a shitload of differences and new content. Mario Kart is not a change, but a different game in its own right, and a good one at that.
I'm not denying that Convictions can gain a new following of fans, and that it's new gameplay may be great. I'm upset though is how Ubisoft is giving the original Splinter Cell fans, the people who built up the franchise name to attract new fans, the cold shoulder.
Here are the clips, again, to compare:
It's not just gameplay too though =/ The story, characters, mood etc changed with DA before Convictions. Compare the DA trailer with the Chaos Theory trailers.
Please, go to the Convictions forum, and go a few pages back when the forum was more active, and there were still some fans posting.
