Forums - Nintendo - Capcom tells why no Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 on wii

There are mixed opinions about Capcom's Wii support.

But I sure sense that Sven does not seem to like the console.

And he seems to speak for the company.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

Makes sense. If you can't fit it in the file size limit then obviously you can't put it on there haha.

Why not just put it on disc and almost like a port from their DC/PS2/Xbox version? Im sure capcom knows a thing or two about porting. Im sure alot of MvC2 & Wii owner fans wouldnt mind it.

is it a file size limit!? well, it's an ok reason

but what about the rest, RE5, SF4, Tatsuno Vs Capcom may be fine for Japan, but what about the rest

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

it cant be on disk because they "don’t actually have any retail rights on this project.

Sounds reasonable so im not dissapointed in them. but my patience running thin right now with them.

I kinda understand with the wii not getting SFIV but it still sucks but im not complaining.
I it kinda sucks we didnt get RE5 but im pretty sure they have to have a reason.
No Bionic Commando either whats the excuse for this one?

That's the big problem I have with Capcom, for any game they could (and often do) have a good excuse as to why the Wii gets left out, which is why you can't justify being angry over any particular game not being on the Wii; but when you look at the repetition and how the Wii misses all the big IPs (except MH3, but that was supposed to be a PS3 game and was aborted), it suggests that Capcom doesn't think very highly of the Wii and won't put much effort into the system.

So they couldn't get the rights for a disc release of MvC2 and apparently that's the end of that, yet they're really, really, really trying to get the Tatsunoko licenses straightened out to get that game to America... uh yeah.

The more I hear it the more it sounds like bullshit.

They have rights to distribute the game but no right to make copies?

That must be some loop hole they found.
