Lets get this straight though, no game compares to silver/gold/crystal

Correct, that´s why I want so bad a DS remake because I never played it before.

You've never played Silver/Gold/Crystal?

Holy cow! I've beaten Silver at least 15 times throughout my life, and after just beating Platinum I feel like going back and playing through Silver again because it's just so much more fun to me.

It's balanced fine o_O; they completed removed it since double dash and it doesn't really hurt the game play for the Wii version at all which makes you wonder if it was needed in the first place. I do miss the skill turbo that's been around for the longest time but the new one works too. It's still a game where the good players will completely kill the bad players, as far as I'm concerned, they did an incredible job where you can be a serious gamer or a casual gamer and both enjoy the game.

why don't they just remove anything that gives competitive advantage. Give everyone the same top speed and acceleration. Hell just take out the powerups in total, that won't hurt gameplay either.

But you're right, it doesn't hurt the core gameplay.

EDIT: Let's get one thing straight dahuman. You aren't even given the choice of whether or not to use specials. They decided for you what you should have. Which is funny because they allow you to play all those old levels, but without the powerups.

Mario Kart sucks now

On Topic... I have never owned a Pokemon game.... my experience with the franchise is limited to about 10 minutes I spent with Pokemon Silver on one of my friends GameBoys (this was only about 5 months ago)

I don't see the appeal.

I guess you love the rubber band Ai and casual friendly gameplay. Double Dash was 100xs better than the Wii version.

Doesn't rubber band AI mean they catch up to you too easily? because that happens a lot in Double Dash too.... and considerably more so in Mario Kart 64.

Casual friendly gameplay? It's Mario Kart FFS.... it is a casual friendly game by nature.

MKWii >>> Double Dash >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> MK64.

Double Dash is still a great game though, I loved the dual character thing and would happily see that re-instated into MKWii, but as MKWii does almost everything else better I really don't mind losing that feature.

MK64 was just an average game really, if I ever had the urge to play a weapons based racing game I usually left Mario Kart in it's box and put Snowboard Kids in instead, which is a better game.

--------

@SJGohan... You will have to send me your DS too, as I don't have one. Don't expect it back anytime soon though

Thats some grade A bullshit right there.

Surely calling it bullshit is calling me a liar about my own game preference?

Well I am afraid you can't do that, and there are others who share the same view of the series as me, and some who hate Double Dash but love MK64 and Wii, and then yourself and some others take your view (you haven't mentioned your view on MK64 yet, but if you hate rubber band AI that game has much more of it)

yes, I'm aware that you bitch a lot =P I too wish all games were perfect.

I loved the original crash games, and I haven't really enjoyed a final fantasy game since X, but I'm holding my judgement for when XIII comes out.

i'll accept that answer only if you realize that neither of us is bipartisan on the issue.
