Considering how well the garbage that is Lair did, I could see HS getting over 200k the first week.

Well, I went to a couple game stores near I live, and that means I can assess the opinions of 2 million people.
155k
If it does worse than Lair then that's pretty bad...

I couldn't tell you but I did see a commercial of the game (in action no less) with her red flowing hair all about while beating the crap out of a few guys on screen. It was during the Miami/Dallas football game. It's nice to see a Playstation 3/Game ad that is focused on games. That sure can't hurt...
I would be really surprised if it sold lest than 250K in its opening week... The game looks like a solid title and graphically impressive.

QFT - if LAIR does better than HS, its a sad, sad world out there...
(LAIR has had a LOT more hype to be fair...)

I think this will do better in EU than NA b/c of the extremely more agressive ad campaign that Sony is doing there.
I give it 90k if the majority God of War fans havent bought their ps3 yet, 150k range if majority GoW fans bought a ps3.
Lair got alot more hype and still couldn't break the 200k barrier, even though it got mixed reviews. I dont expect heavenly sword to do any better even with better reviews. alot more people buy their games from hype and recognized name than actually read through countless reviews before decided their purchase, this is why company pay big $$$ to advertise their game. Another reason is alot of people dont go out purchase a game every week, ps3 just had warhawk, lair, and madden out, That'll drawn some of the purchasing power away from heavenly sword.

The really big EU advertising campaign starts this Tuesday. I am kind of courious as to what Sony come up with this year. The PS2 past ads were great but last years PSP/PS2 adds were pretty meh. The Third Place ads were really popular so if they can come up with something similar it might give them a boost in the EU.
The awareness of this game isn't really noticable in my tri-state area, as I do alot of consulting around my 3 states. That and the fact that from the reviews it seems much more of a rent than a buy for a lot of consumers. Here in the US we pinch every penny so we can finance everything and get into credit trouble. With our Walmart mentality it seems as though this game will sell around 90-100k its first week with around 8-12k legs for christmas.
