Forums - Sony - GT:5 why do you defend it so?

First off, let me point out that I own several of the GT games in this series.  I think its a great racing sim and I have no problems with the game or it selling a bajillion copies.  And I actually think it will do quite well, just not as well as some may think.  Bring on its release date so this debate can finally be settled!!!

But, my question is why do so many of the PS3 faithful defend it like a religion?  If one person says the game will not do 12-15 million LTD sales they are attacked by 3 or 4 different posters as being idiotic, xbots, misguided or whatever.  I am really sick of it to be honest and that is why I was defending H3 in the other thread.  I don't really care about #'s here.  Just why you defend the game so.

P.S.  I guess the same could be said about Halo, or a list of other games.

PD give yourself a pat on the back for making so many 360 owners insecure about their purchase.

*claps*

Also I'm not sure why you pointed out the few numpties whom said 15m LTD however those saying the game will not even pass 8-9m (so many threads on it) are just asking for trouble. Problem is that people have no idea about how sales work, main fact being that as console sales increase market saturation gets larger and larger. GT5 will do 10 million, I see no reason why it will not however the same cannot be said for the "I have the IQ of banana and know as sales for the console increases it automatically means game sales will increase. "

When the release date does come in the next couple decades people will shit bricks when GT5 actually sells like other flagship GT games. :O

Well, after several games that sold under initial expectations and the chain of helpless arrogant Sony PR statments... GT5 is the next champion that will enter the arena...

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

GT3 sold like a ton on the PS2 when it had a low install base...more than GT4 did LTD, and GT4 came out in 2005. You tell me why "I defend it so". It's quite obvious, actually

i never defended it , but im sure going to buy it, all the racing games i tried this gen doesnt have that "Classic" feeling in them like GT does.
tho when i bought GRID i thought its going to be better than GT but its not.

Well, I guess this thread doesn't help in the direction of not havig people say that GT will sell more than this or that. In fact, the only thread that is hovering around is that GT vs Halo thing.

This thread almoust seams to me like trying to revive the debate, rahter than letting it go until due time.

Plus I don't get the title. What's there to defend? It's not out yet, so there's nothing to defend.

A, maybe you are refering to people's oppinions that it will sell an amount or another. Well, I guess they are defending their oppinion, not GT5, since the game doesn't need deffending.

GT3 was always bundled with PS2's for quiet awhile.

Because it is the best driving series ever made and continues to set the bar.

its not so much that i defend it because there really isn't nothing to defend it against the numbers speak for themselves. 4 games 40+ mill copies.

when ppl start to talk as though it has fallen off or forza is better I laugh because those ppl are talking without having played the game (it was never released on an hd console so constant comparison is annoying) and are wishing what they are saying is true.

probably those who estimate it selling 5 mill are Americans. they can be quite arrogant lol

Bundles always explain large sales of games sometimes.
