Forums - Gaming - Spoilers: Enough proof FF VII is being remade? Ending of FF VII CC

I'm not sure, but I think it's just Square screwing with you by showing you the tech demo and telling you what game follows it. I could be wrong though. We'll just have to wait and see.

Yes nazna it very well could be, but why would they add that to be continued in ff 7? Very very few sequals even mention that, and what would be the reason to mention continued in FF 7? Im pretty sure it isnt to play the ps1 game, since that wont really help SE i think its one of the reasons

1. To generate hype, to get things going and see how many people, and how big, a remake of ff 7 would be.

2. To really announce that a FF 7 is being released, and its just a great way to announce it early, or late.

3. To toy with the fans, just to make humor, but again, see how much hype it builds.

Again like you said, we will have to wait and see.

Also isnt this a secret ending, so you would think they would of added that this game is before the story  of ff 7 at beg, on box etc, or at least in the normal ending

                 With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

Well, I really hope they aren't using Crisis Core to judge how much FFVII as a remake could sell, because if they are I can almost guarantee you it won't happen.  Crisis Core is looking like it will rest at 2.5 million lifetime at best on the PSP.  If they were planning a PS3 remake (as the tech demo would apply) and they were basing it on the PSP game sales, the logical conclusion would be that it will sell signifficantly less on the PS3 as a remake.  Still, there is always a chance, and hopefully they aren't using CC:FFVII as a test for interest in the remake.

About point #1, they put up a wall at either a Square Enix party or a TGS a year or two ago (I can't remember which) on which they asked people to place a sticky note with whatever FF they'd prefer to have remade on it.  FFVII won by a landslide, so they definately know how big it would be.

About #2, the fact that Crisis Core came out just a week before TGS can't just be a coincidence. ;)

@naznatips

How can you say that? It sold 350k in japan alone in the first day. You have to be blind to expect only 2.5million sales WW for CC:FF VII.

Because 350K first day in Japan isn't all that good.  That leads to a 450K to 500K first week.  Which leads to about 1 million lifetime Japan at best.  MHF2 sold more than 700K first week and isn't even going to hit 2 million worldwide.  I'm actually being generous here.  Sadly, PSP games sell like shit, especially outside of Japan.  I don't think they would really use CC:FFVII to judge the worldwide popularity of the game though, so don't worry.

@naznatips

I bet by years end CC:FFVII will hit 2 million at lowest in sales in japan. Yes I wager a bet.

You already pretty much lost your 6 million lifetime bet with me Leo-j.  I'm too nice to take you up on this one too.  Unless you are willing to let me pick your avatar permanently if I win both...

Yes, i hope they wouldnt, they should know we have been getting some pretty shitty ff 7 spin offs, and well this is actually the first good one it seems, so everyone is reluctant to buy it after the other ones, that and i bet only a % of owners own a psp, and if it sells 2+ million WW SE will see a profit involved with the ps3 one, because it wont be as expensive as a new IP with the story kinda set in place etc

O.O your getting me excited makingmusic!

Hmm i see your point, if they also announce a remake of ff7 for ps3, it could also boost crisis core sales, i mean it really would, more people that have a ps3 would then want the psp game to see how the story before unfolded, it makes perfect sense

Also guys, its not really a issue of, IF they are going to remake it, its when, in a IGN interview they asked and they responded with its not if they are going to remake it, its when, they said it had to be crucial timing, but they wouldnt go into details.

But that doesnt mean that there is a def remake, but still should add on to hopes
