Forums - Sales - PS3 has no game to counter Halo ODST this year...

TBH Halo is getting a bit overused my MS these days! I mean do they really have no other option rather than to re-hash several different versions/add-ons to the Halo franchise??

I mean i would think it is better that Sony are focusing on making new IP's rather than making more and more of the same game!

Halo is good and all but even that has its limits!

The Xbox360 released November 2005. We are heading towards May 2009 and there are 2 Halo Games on the Xbox360, both from a totally different genre. Your point?

With two more announced.

But hey, four games isn't bad, looking at some series (like Tales, or Guitar Hero)

When you take an RTS and put Halo in the title it sells like hotcakes so I'm going to guess that no PS3 title will touch the sales of Halo ODST

He was referring to Halo Wars and how its brandname made it sell very well despite the game being in a fairly niche genre.

I wouldn't say Halo Wars sold like hotcakes. It sold very well, particularly for an RTS, but I think "selling like hotcakes" is reserved for the shooters in the series.

I can't see Halo Wars doing more than 2.5 million LT, while I would be shocked if ODST did less than 5 million, and I would think it'd sell around 6 million when all is said and done.

You're moving to Japan, just to play FF13 a year early? Now, that's dedication

I don't think there's much disagreement about the quality of holiday lineups, as they stand, we are discussing sales here, and I think Xbot had a point in that thread about how to identify a PS3 fanboy when he said that they always start talking about quality in sales discussions.

Not to go off topic, but does anyone actually know how much hotcakes sell? Because I think that's important when it's used as a simile regarding sales.

I suppose it was used back in the 60s, and the name stuck
