I don't get the connection. What do threads that are in the wrong section being locked have to do with threads that aren't locked with suspicions of trolling? Thread in the wrong section are encouraged to be reopened in the proper forum.

threads that are in the wrong topic are easy to identify and deal with. It is black and white.

Threads that are borderline trolling are a totally different issue. Do you take action and make everyone mad that the mods are too strict? or do you not take action and make everyone mad because you didn't do anything? I've checked out the thread, and I haven't read the entire thing, but the posts I have read were all reasonable and not out of hand, so I said I'd wait to see what happens.

^ Some people don't like off topic, or threads not related to gaming or might get offended by the topic so i think it's a matter of having a descriptive title which allows people to make the decision about whether they want to read it or not.

You'll get the harm if enough people start doing it. that's why we have the rule. Imagine a forum full of baiting threads, and you never know the true content unless you go into them.
