It's an odd move on their part if true. They already have the Wii variant of the engine up and running, so a Wii version would be less time-consuming than World at War, and W@W's sales speak for themselves

Unless the seperate brand precludes its presence on Wii, since it runs as a direct sequel to 4, obviously not on Wii

Like someone already mentioned, this could be good news for The Conduit.

Different price point ($30, not $50).

They were likely cheap to make (most DS games are, especially compared to console games), and 4 at least sold 500,000 copies. It'd be silly not to, really.
