Forums - Sales - "Trade in a PS2, get $100 off a PS3"

Even if didn't have a PS3 (and lived in America), I still wouldn't do that. I want to be able to go back and buy some of the PS2 games that I missed (ICO, MGS3, maybe SSX, Devil May Cry, etc.).

Why don't they do it with the Wii or Xbox 360.

$200/250 - $100 = $100/150 makes a whole lot more sense in terms of driving sales.

They are bussiness not charity.

When they take your PS2 and sell you PS3 for 300$ they still want to make money.

Also there might be some agreement with Sony under the table.

probably underhand deal, which is why I wonder why M$$$$$ doesn't do so also?

Since the retailer price is somewhere around 300 anyway, Sony is probably planning to reuse the parts from the ps2 for other things, including new slim ps2's. Maybe this new 99$ pricepoint is causing shortages?
