Forums - Sony - PSN/Credit Card Issues

I live in the Bahamas but I bought my 80GB motorstorm bundle PS3 in December 2007 in Miami, Florida U.S.A. Bahamian PSN accounts can't be made so I had no choice but to make a U.S. account if I wanted to play online. Now here's where my problem comes in...

SONY doesn't ship anything here... everything's just imported by U.S. retailers and marked up prices for reselling. I rarely buy games here because the cheapest you can find a game that would be 60$ in the US here is 90$... I bought Burnout and GTA4 here because my mother wasn't taking a trip to the US anytime soon. I want to buy content from the PSN Store BUT I CAN'T!! PSN card are marked up as well. I've bought a 20$ card here b4 and I don't want to do it again because it cost me 35$.... that's what??? 75% more than what the card is actually worth???!!! [50$ cards are 85$ here!!!!]

So I thought about using credit... I made a second account, a canadian one which pretty much gets the same content as the US store. My cousin [he's canadian and has a canadian card] gave me 150$ from his card. Me and my bro spent that up... I think we spent it really well but the store's just getting better and better each weak. There's more that I want like FlOwer and Disgaea3 DLC. So I asked my mother if I could give her 50 bucks and use her card to add 50$ to my US acccount... what do you know??? Her bahamian credit card doesn't work.... And i really dont' wanna leech more cash from my cousin... it just feels wrong. Especially after he was nice enough to get me a 25.5" Samsung 1920x1200 LCD monitor for me to connect my PS3 and PC to for X-Mas.

So I just wanna know.... is there a work around??? Can I buy a card online and just get the code given to me so I can just enter the 12 digit code through this site and add finding just like that?? Does SONY offer any service like that??? Know anything I can do??

I'd also like to add that the reason I can't use the Bahamian card is because the Card and the account must be registered to the same country/region. The cards bahamian but the account is American. You can't make a Bahamian PSN account...

I think your best bet is to make a PayPal account with your Credit Card and with it, you could buy a $20 card with around $24 and a $50 card with ~$57 through eBay.

You can probably find e-bay people who are willing to ship to you. You should be able to do that cheaper than the retailers down there.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

You don't even need shipping with eBay as some people in there just send you the code via email.

i always buy PSN cards from here

http://cgi.ebay.com/USA-US-Playstation-Network-PSN-Card-50-For-Ps3-PsP_W0QQitemZ400044879940QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item400044879940&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1308|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50

just make sure that its "Free Shipping" uses the same payment method as you (Paypal ..ect )

Edit : and forgot to add that they wont ship you the card, they will send you the codes through your email.

Don't PSN cards only work in the continental United States? I'm another one who can't use PSN. PS3 owner for almost 2 years, and the store is still useless to me.

Make a US account, and Buy US PSN cards, trouble solved =]

I dont know if there is a work around . But I usually just buy psn cards from the states for the same reason whenever i can.

last time I check psn cards were nowhere to be found (canada) and my credit card doesn't work neither on PSN it's a mastercard with the bank of canada but it's not good enough for sony

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Hey man! I had to find a workaround for this since I'm outside the US. There's a method similar to PayPal that's called entropay where create a virtual credit card and you can use that card to buy stuff on the PSN.

The only thing is that they charge u 4.95% for every time you reload the credit card, and the minimum amount is 20 bucks, that's a dollar more. But it works, go to:
