PS3 is ahead of X360 by 3.5 million consoles from launch. PS3 is selling more systems than X360. It is only a matter of time PS3 will overtake X360 when PS3 console  price reaches optimal mass market penetration point of $299 and below.

PS3 has sold on average around 120 000 more consoles per month than XBox 360 for first 29 months of their lives on the market. Around 30k more PS3s sold every week than X360. PS3 will well and truly outsell XBox 360 and claim second place in console wars. PS3 outselling X360 by 20% more systems in same point in time comparison.

We have to bear in my PS3 has not had a real price cut yet. The PS3 price was reduced back in 2007 two times due to PS3 system modifications.

The Ps3 isn't competing with the X360 of 2008, it's competing with the X360 of 2009.

I don´t think that line of thinking is given much importance as far as devs/publishers/execs are concerned...they see 'the now', a 8.2 million lead over the PS3.

The Xbox 360 was out a full year before the PS3 so of course the sales will be higher. People really need to think about that before bashing the ps3.

I mean how many of those xbox sales include people who had to rebuy them because the xbox failed. At one time wasn't the failure rate 33%

Not to mention the price difference that has always been between the ps3 and xbox.

If you want to talk about sales, look what the Wii is doing to both, Xbox had a year on that too and the Wii is just smashing Xbox in sales week after week, same with PS3.

If you take off the first year of sales for the Xbox 360, what are the numbers from the time the PS3 came out and on with the xbox, i bet their isn't a huge gap.
