Forums - Sales - Serious thread, what is happeneing to the Wii?

I think when you think of the times we're in sales of all console are high because of lack of games wii is doing very well.

Time for Nintendo to break out the multi-colored Wii's. I want a Black one!!

4 ≈ One

Wii is doing fine, the only region it's not doing well is Japan. And I can't see it made much difference in the total sales number.

When will people remember that January-May is the slow time of year for the industry? After Christmas, nothing major usually launches until April/May. Most devs undergo crunch time in the fall, and are rewarded with an extended break in the winter.

Not trying to be rude or shut down the topic but...who cares what is happening to the Wii.

If it was all to end for the wii today...Nintendo made billions, we all waggled our share, new mario, smash brothers, metroid, mario kart and Zelda games came out.

Life continues as normal.

If it wasn't for the insane, one-week boost for the PS3 in Japan - the Wii would still be dead on 50% marketshare for consoles.

So in terms of being serious, not much has happened at all.

The most important event for Nintendo since the launch of the Wii is coming soon - Motion+. That will determine if the Wii will be gone in 2-3 years - or around in 5-6.

Software drought, I'd say. Let's hope Nintendo bring the big guns to E3.

i think its a sign of the anticipated Wii fad everybody was talking about it just came a little later, it released most of its good SW last year and the year b4 i dont think it will sell more than it did last year and sales will continue to fall year over year for the years to come

will be interesting to see if it can reach 50% this year

That's a very interesting stance, considering YoY sales are up.

I think a lot of it is to do with the fact we are nearing the end of a year out Nintendo pretty much took in terms of releasing software to give third parties a chance and they are probably planning a return with a bang (I reckon at E3).

I think we'll get WM+ with a few decent titles, a spate on new balance board titles, wii fit + and a launch of a new demo channel with a move in maximum wii ware file size announced at this years E3. This is without the announcement of a Wii Zelda title also at E3.
