yes ps3>360 again w/o price cut now i can change my angry face for this week

So 360 back to outselling PS3 2 to 1 almost in NA then. By the end of this year the 360 will be at least 10m units clear of the PS3 in NA. Think Sony need a miracle to get back on level terms in NA now.

Wow, the PS3 won by 12K this week. Didn't the 360 win by about 30K last week?

PS3's numbers are abnormal, but it was handedly outsold in the markets that matter. I really hope to see a healthier year going forward and I also hope to see Sony drop the PSP for the PSP2 next year. They need a much more secure platform than they have. The piracy is murdering the system. I haven't seen it this bad since the Dreamcast.

The ratio is 1.60:1 so is much more like 3:2 than 2:1. And unless the 360 sales more than double the PS3 sales, the PS3 is still gaining marketshare over 360 in NA.

In absolute terms, PS3 sales are not really good, but basically the same as last year and in a worse economic context. The 360 is up YoY and will certainly be until august-september when we reach the anniversary of the price cut.

Projecting how things will be by the end of the year is quite risky if we don't know if or when the PS3 will in turn get a price cut.

To be fair the PSP has been much more successful.

Even though the Dreamcast was easy to pirate games (assuming you had the right hardware 10 years ago) it moved considerably less hardware and software. The PSP has sold very well and the software sales aren't too bad. 3rd party PSP games seem to sell about as well as 3rd party Wii games.

When reading preview it's advised to look at lower end sales of Wii bracket and high end PS3 bracket. If you read it this way it makes sense once Media Create numbers arrive :D

Yeah but this is just a sales spike from Japan. If you look at the other territories it performed horribly...especially in NA. Speaking of NA why is everyone ignoring those numbers? Afterall this is the thread to discuss them. Also where is Smeags!?

lol true enough the preview is a load of tosh. Its been consistently wrong lately!! However its pretty much assured PS3 will have had a massive drop and past golden week it will carry on declining so the question still stands :)
