Go Team Venture! I still don't get the Wii, PS Move, and Kinect.| NJ5 said: Gotta love this part: Platformer: Eh, this isn't the huge genre it once was, but all I've got to say is that right now, it begins and ends with LittleBigPlanet. The Wii doesn't exist in these articles. It cheated
it needs a hardcore TPS like gears is to 360 maybe uncharted2 will be it, i would like a darker character and more of a war type story

I think that the genre's are biased and the original writer of the article was biased. The genres fail to take into account the different demographics of consumers within each one and missed a few genres...
And I don't think it is just about exclusives, it is about who is offering the most complete lineup in the genres you are interested in. For example, when you throw the Wii in, does it really compete well with 360/PS3 for the same sports titles (Graphically and online)?
Where is the RTS genre?
Action/Adventure should be at least three... Shooters, Sandbox, Fighting and drop the First Person Shooter genre)
Sports genre?
RPGs should be divided into at least Action RPGs and turn-based.
What about PSN vs WiiWare vs XBLA?
Also, the writer really didn't pay attention to what is out there focusing on Sony... Super Mario Galaxy, Crackdown, GTA DLC, Fallout DLC, Zelda, Mass Effect, Fable II, MarioKart, etc.
Finally, there is more to buying consoles now... Do you want to buy blu-ray? Do you want to stream HD movies? Do you want backward compatibility? Controller styles? Casual or Core gaming? Online gaming? Are you buying it as a social networking device? Are you trying to get fit? Picture sharing? Integration with Windows Media servers? Wired or wireless networking support? Is it something you want your kids to play? Is cost important?
All of which play into what console you will end up with. I think this writer was just trying to simplify it to say buy a PS3. They should have started by just saying "if this is how you view the world go buy a PS3".

Yea, this pretty much ended it for me too. You can have your opinion (it is obvious that people have different ones) but to talk about varous 360 games as close contenders and to say this...
"You can never jump away from Conclusions. Getting back is not so easy. That's why we're so terribly crowded here."

Even if the Wii doesn't exist for this little article, the 360 still has Braid which still beats out Little Big Planet. LBP is an average platformer with a decent level editor and a great art style. Braid is a near perfect platformer with a great art style (and music).
