I still like my Crescent Falchion +5. It's much faster than a Uchigatana, has a great R2 attack, and greater durability. Anyways, my character doesn't focus that much on weapons, so ...

On my first playthro i used the Dragon Sword + 5

But when i lost my save and started a new game i went with Falchion + 5  (its was really great and fast)

But now am using the Moon Sword + 5 its stronger seems a little faster and R2 does a thrust attack which is better suited for my style

Unrefined fools, Blueblood sword is for the elegant warriors.

Blueblood sword is a very good Sword, especially since the stamina drain for it isn't very large, it allows for some pretty countering and comboing. That being said, you need a fairly hefty amount of Luck to pull of some good damage on the Blueblood, especially against high-tiered PvP combatants or NG+ enemies, at least 45.

That's why I prefer Northern Regalia, Dragon Bone Smasher or Dual Uchigatana Wielding (The way of the samurai), it's more effective on the long run :)

luck is a good trait to have, imagine everything you kill dropping an item...it can happen.

The problem is that luck doesn't increase the drop %, it only increases the amount of items that are dropped whenever you get a drop.

Take as an example, the Dreglings in 1-1. Normally they drop Crescent Moon Herbs. At luck <10, you'll usually get 1 CMH, 2 very rarely. At Luck > 30, you're bound to almost always get 2 or 3 CMH per drops.

The only way to increase the drop % is by using the Large Sword of Searching, which effectively doubles the drop % RNG for each enemy (doesn't work with enemies that already have a 100% drop RNG, like the Dual Wielding Katana Skeletons).

Everything I kill seems to drop something, ever since boosting my luck to 30. I think it does both, all it says in the stat is drop rate. It doesn't define percentage or amount.

Nope, I have my Luck at 40 and some enemies don't always drop something, unless I'm equipped with the LSoS. It has been discussed extensively, what's the effect of luck. I've seen people getting amazing drops with 7 Luck, and some with 99 Luck getting crappy drops. It's all about the RNG % drop for each enemy. As it's a Random Number Generator, it will affect each game differently.

It's also the same for the rare drops. Some people get rare drops easily, like the Pure Bladestone in two/three tries, and some take hours to get it to drop, even at high Luck.

There's a supposed calculation glitch with luck that at luck 8, you won't get items as often as higher luck stats, but the items you get will be better. Not sure if it's true though.

And damn, this thread is still going -.-

Yeah, this thread has the possibility to achieve 4K+ posts xD Must be one of the longest official threads in VGC.

Didn't knew about that calculation glitch, I never exploited it since my Luck status was always dwingling above 15 >_

Yeah I heard the same thing, except with 8 luck. Not sure why though.
