Used a weak bow with ~250 arrows and then soul ray depleting my mp bar twice (intelligence 31, Magic 31).

Hmmm I got a question, if I finished one world (meaning, beaten all the big demons, bosses, in that world), could I still alter the world tendency in that world?

I got the game 2-3 days ago, imported as I am in Europe...

If I start a game in online mode will I start from zero or I can use my character from SP?

You can use your character from SP.

If your connected to PSN then the game is always online. There is no actual separate online component, it is all together.

I wonder if you will need to use a US account though, so I might not have the best answer for you.

(as everyone said already), let your health drop to 30%, equip dull Rats ring, Morion Blade, and a bow. (needed 90 Arrows with that strategy in New game++)

another question:

in my fourth playthrough, i wanted to get the ring from selene, so i spoke to her, went to 5-3, killed (first the maiden, then garl) the boss, then to the nexus - and back to 5-3 -> but the BP Garl Vinland is not there. :(.. any ideas how to trigger him? (i want that Rings-trophy -.-)
