Obama could have caught the deadly flu, but didn't. One of the Mexican officials he met during his trip last week died of flu symptoms the day after he met with Obama.

Conspiracy theorists gotta love that one... I mean, Obama goes to Mexico and meets someone with a deadly contagious virus that is 4 other viruses put together. That's a movie plot right there.

The un-official party line in the medical community for H1N1 at the moment is 'When' and not 'if'... I'm scared lol

Seriously this is kind of scary. The numbers right now point to a death rate of at least 5.5%. Of course these are preliminary numbers, but the 1918 flu which killed 20 million people had a death rate of just 2.5%. And yeah, all the deaths are in Mexico, but it's not like Mexico is a third world country with extremely bad health care.

I'm tending to believe that this isn't just another inconsequential scary story. Stay away from coughing people, wash your hands often and if you're sick try not to spread the disease by going out more than absolutely necessary.

Where did you read that almost all the infected people had contact with pigs?

I duno... to my knowledge there healthcare system isn't that good.  Then again it may just be due to them having a huge Aids epidemic as well as having a bunch of isolated areas far away from health care.

Apparently it is fairly easy to treat... But the sensationalist media don't report on 'good' cures, because they are asses. They focus on the negative.

The WHO has a FAQ on the front page that was added yesterday which answers most of the questions that people are asking.

It's the link under background information and is in PDF format
