Forums - Nintendo - Do YOU think that a Kid Icarus revival is in the works?

Personally... I don't, really. I feel that if it was they would've already shown it. Most of the Kid Icarus on Wii-rumors and all that started as a result of Pit being a playable character in Brawl, now it's gone 3 years since we saw the first trailer for Brawl(Where Pit was first unveiled), and more than 1 year since the game's actual release, and we've seen/heard nothing official at all... I think it may have been in the planning stages at one point, but never really got further than that.

Very much this.

Also, I don't really believe Factor 5 was working on it at any point in time.

If its at E3 ill be highly surprised.

Factor 5's shooter I think will be Turrican, hopefully PilotWings is their 'casual' title!

I agree with the general consensus here; it was in development at some point but hasn't yet seen the light of day. It might not see a release as a Wii titles or Kid Icarus title, but if Miyamoto was in anyway involved (as General Manager of Nintendo, I expect he was) then the ideas used in the game or being floated around for the game will definitely resurface in some way, shape or form. Whether that's as a Kid Icarus revival in the future or in the next Zelda/Mario whatever, I don't know.

I'd be pleasantly surprised if it did turn up, though. Nintendo don't like to waste development time/money/resources, so I think a release is definitely possible, just not very likely.

I think it could still be in the works.

Please I hope factor 5 is making Pilotwings as some suggest,I have been waiting for an update since I finished up the one on N64 and even on cube was promised one by Nintendo.

No I dont think Kid Icarus is in developpment

At this point, i think it was in development, but was canceled, and will never see the light of day unless Factor 5 leaks it to someone like Unseen 64. The theory is that Kid Icarus's cancellation was why Nintendo's 08 E3 presentation ran short (yeah, it was full of fail, but you pay a lot of money to get a keynote time slot, you don't just piss it away like that)

The theory is that it was cancelled last-minute, and thereby they didn't have anything else to fill that time.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
