Forums - Nintendo - If Nintendo and Verizon worked together to make a handheld..

and make the handheld system that can play games, music, pictures and also a cellphone. Would you buy it? (I know the Iphone is like that but they have bad games)

No. Sorry, but I don't wanna be using the DS as a phone.

OK. Maybe if they do something really different with it, like using a Skype-esque service to handle calls at an affordable price. I don't want it anywhere near my face, or anything regular like that. If they can make it really good and seamless, then I'm in on it.

Now with the iPhone getting World of Warcraft(rumor) it just sort of confirmed to me that cellphones are the PC of handheld gaming. Certainly with its hot seasons and popularity, but no definite subtitution for regular handheld consoles. You can keep your phone and a handheld, I don't think everything needs to be in one device as far as I'm concerned.

If they do go for the phone thing, I'm just hoping they take time to develop something really decent, and make it worthwhile. That's all.

Hell no

It would fail, as Verizon would say the games cost 4000 cents when they actually cost 4000 dollars.

I would buy it.
