- make the battles faster: the very slow execution of moves was frustrating, especially because I played it after the fast paced FFX

- less annoying random battles: really, the "battle all 10 meters" system was tediuos and the moment you didn't need to battle anymore (high lvl) you use the items and your ship to get rid of them

- battle you have to lose: I hate when devs implement those and I wasted about 2 hours fighting that asshole until I looked at a walkthrough and realized I had to die there

- make the discoveries system a bit easier: I don't mean that they should eliminate the challenge, but atleast they could have done this in a way that it's possible to find those without using a walkthrough (and even with that it was very hard)

- range of vision: hell, Legends was a DC game on the GC, so they really could've improved the atrocious range of vision

I agree with all of these and would add-on that I would prefer running into enemies instead of random battles.

However, I will likely replay the game for 100% (or near 100% anyway).

Also I noticed they mentioned Infinite Space, I want that when it comes out ;_;

That is a pathetic thread.  Go reread my thread on Tales of Symphonia to find out how to criticize a game properly and remind yourself of what a mediocre, flawed game looks like.

While you're spot on about the others as well, I'd like to add that when you DO have to lose a battle, make it so your crushed quickly, thus making it obvious that you're not allowed to win that fight. Making the enemy fairly weak, but with infinite health, is not a good idea....

Says the fan of a terrible game like TOS2

=====================================================

As for the topic

SOA besides it's overuse  random battles,the game just excelled at presentaion and just made a fun game and had so much charm. Ship battles were amazing.  One of my fave games ever and own it on both systems.

Cliche yes,but it was done that way on purpose and as mentioned the presentation/charm made up for it. Exploring was so fun and kept you busy looking for new discoveries. One of the my fave parts was when he gets stranded on the island.   That and Grandia II amazing games on the DC.
