I don't hate them... but I don't like them either.

There are a few games that are good, but the rest are pretty boring IMO

Yes until this gen. Never liked FPS games but then I got Resistance 2 with my PS3 and I got kind of addicted to it. Killzone 2 now changed my mind on FPS but having too much of 1 genre is bad.

Look at all the games this gen, mostly FPS. We need more variety.

I wouldn't say I hate them, though they are usually one of the last genre's I'll play. What I do hate is 7 / 10 of the games coming out being FPS or TPS at times and how the supporters of this genre keep allowing developers to push out games that are essentially lacking in substance.
