Forums - Nintendo - MHG sells 92K first day

This has already been mentioned in the sales thread, but good news:  MHG has indeed posted some excellent sales on its first day in Japan; 92K out of the 210K, with most of the sales coming from the controller edition (66K or so for that).  This bodes very well not only for MH3, but also for Wii owners feeling that the system is nearing its decline.

Yeah it's pretty impressive and a Great sign not just for MH3, but for most traditional Japanese games on the Wii. There's definitely going to be a hardware boost amongst the "hardcore" demographic. I wonder if it will give Muramassa a bump too.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

^^ I suspect another 8k-12k for Oboro and lifetime sales of 100k, which is great for such a magnificent game.

I'm not too sure about what it will do for Muramasa, but IIRC, the game is already about halfway there to reaching its 56K.  The game DID fall on the charts this week, but the number is approximately at 30K or more.  Golden Week is also coming up; we'll see if the Wii really CAN be boosted.

This's a good news indeed. :D

GOlden Week and MHG may help Muramasa sustain legs, not necessarily improve them.

I didn't even think of it in those terms.  It would be really nice if Muramasa got a nice bump.  Hopefully that second shipment reached stores already, because from what I understand, only residual copies of the first shipment were available last week.

But yes, great first day sales for MHG.  Wonder will final week numbers will put it.

That is pretty impressive. Now, where is my copy? The mail has yet to come today...

Yeah Muramasa would have gotten a bump regardless. Marvelous was slow to ship more copies. It was virtually sold out the first week.

Very good considering its a port of a PS2 game. Tri demo was probably the kicker.
