DMC4 on PS3 sold 310k. And that's a known series...

Bayonetta isn't going to get close :3

But Bayonetta is on both consoles so you combine them.

And DMC is known but I think we all know that is becoming of much less importance this generation.

Well, we're talking about PS3 specifically (since that's what's beating the Wii ATM...and what we've been talking about in raising its sales beyond the full FF XIII).

Ah, I guess it's bad to in late.

And I wouldn't be surprised if Sony announces Hot Shots Golf 6. That would be a nice holiday title and surely do 500k with its much larger userbase.

Yeah I remember you and me talking about a HSG6 in a news article once.

I wonder if they'll announce that anytime. But I'd think if they do it'd be at TGS and release in 2010.

That and we're due for another Dynasty Warriors.

Sony really does have a shot of doing very well this holiday.

The one thing about Sony's strategy that's completely flawed is its like they've just given up on trying to expand their market.

When you go from 20 million to 3 million and you're still banking on the same ol', same ol' ... yeah FF13 will boost their hardware sales ... for 2 weeks. And then what?

8 months? No not really. They're gonna have stuff this year, just the bulk is next year.

@Hero time

lol! Bayonetta isn't going to get close to 300k in Japan! ToV won't hit 300k either. End of Eternity won't either, it's a new IP.

So is White Knight Chronicles, and it's almost at 350k, and a Tri-Ace game with the right promotion should be able to match that.

Bayonetta can go either way but I have the feeling that it could appeal those hardcore gamers that are mostly on the PS3 who love action-adventures/ slashers.

As for Tales of Vesperia, not to many people did buy it on the Xbox 360 because they don't like the platform which means more potential buyers, and Tales of Symphonia for the PS2 did back then 400k compared even though it did came a year later.

So that's why they have three development studios solely making casual/family friendly games. (Buzz!, Singstar, and the EyeToy games)

Could have fooled me. Like that game, what was it called? Oh! LittleBigPlanet.

They gave up long time.

Take a look at their release schedule for the rest of the year.

How is a new Dynasty Warriors or a new Hot Shots Golf really going to bolster the PS3? The PS3 already got those franchises before and they didn't do much for hardware sales.

This is the exact same trap Nintendo got itself into with the GameCube when people would say "well Mario will boost sales ... Zelda will boost sales" and all they kept doing was recycling the same franchises that weren't building a userbase in the first place.

A DW6 and a HSG6 wouldn't come out this year...next year they can though.

How did PS3 HW raise during HSG5 and DW5 though?

Have Tales of Graces and Arc Rise of Fantasia something to do with the title's I mentioned?

Ok, if you actually believe that then answer me this.

Why did hardware go up with the release of Dynasty Warriors 4 on the PS2 and eventually go on the outsell Dynasty Warriors 3?

And why did PS2 hardware go up when HSG4 released?

The PS2 was less expensive at that time, and more people where able to buy Dynasty Warriors 4?

Edit:

Okay Soriku, but Sega is promoting Bayonetta way more than those title's and I think that the game has more mainstream appeal than say, Okami or  Madworld
