PS3 quadruples Wii sales in a sales week in Japan. Go the PS3.

Its weird how lots of Nintendo fanboys dont even read the name of theard. It says PS3 sells 4 more times than Wii in JAPAN, NOT worldwide, just JAPAN.

according to my calculations (always wanted to say that), and assumed that Ps3 continues to outsell Wii by 44,000 per week in Japan (which will not happen), it will take about 2 and a half years to reach Wii sales in Japan
by that time, Wii will already have MH3, Wii Sports Resort and mostly DQ10
so STOP dreaming, this week means nothing, even if it lasts....

And you think PS3 has no games left to boost hardware sales??? Final Fantasy XIII is bigger than all those 3 titles combined.
hopefully the ps3 maintains these high sales in japan for a while
The current slump the Wii is in, and the sales outburst of the PS3 have made me seriously doubt the Wii can ever achieve the level of success (profits) and market share (total sales vs competition) and longevity (years in the market) the PS2's had.

OMG, are you serious?
why the heavens do you think FF13 is so huge!?
here:
FF12 (Ps2) : 2.42m in Japan
FF10 (Ps2) : 3.02m in Japan
DQ8 (Ps2) : 3.68m in Japan
which means that the maximum hardware boost Ps3 can get is 3 million, which still is 2 million away from Wii (and it won't happen, for god's sake)
it sold 3m on Ps2 (and Ps3 is not Ps2)
Dragon Quest sold more, what makes Sony fans think that FF13 is so huge, i don't get it!
it's just a game and it can change nothing (even if you make 50 threads about sales of a single week)

Final Fantasy is the biggest franchise. Probably DQ has always been bigger in Japan. But hey, Mario and Zelda also were big in Japan and look at them now. Japanese are not buying many hardcore games on the Wii. I think I'm not wrong to say the Wii is not the RPG console for the japanese gamer this generation (DS and PSP are portables) so let's see how well a big RPG franchise does on a console in Japan.
