Microsoft would rather team up with Nintendo against Sony.

You say this like a statement of fact but I don't see the evidence that you draw this conclusion from.

Personally, I doubt anyone would be leaving considering the fact that everything would most likely be done cheaply next gen. That way, even if someone falls into a gamecube loophole, they'll still be making significant profit which is what corporations are about.

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

Don't act like you don't remember when Microsoft endorsed the whole Wii60 fad that began in the beginning of the gen when Sony had no games. Microsoft also was the first to congratulate Nintendo on the win this gen, but still showed signs that later they will focus on Nintendo.

i dont see any 1 dropping out this gen...i think if ms back out it will be in the 9th gen!!!if sony back out it could be in the 8th gen....

Being a cricket fan is much simpler and more fun

I don't see either leaving when the revenue and potential profits from videogame market are only likely to increase.

Sony has had 2 wins and so far a loss, MS has never had a clear win yet but has put in a good effort so far, Nintendo has lost/won previously.

I don't see any of the current three going anywhere unless major outside factors intervene.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

a few years ago people were talking about Nintendo dropping out.

Look at them now!!

Seriously, SEGA failed because.... SEGA always fails. They failed with the Sega CD, Sega 32x, Sega Saturn, and then with Dreamcast. They were all failures.

Their brand names and game development are not top notch.

If a new console ever came out, the best thing would be a collaboration from publishers. For example: CAPCOM and EA team up to create a new console. Resident Evil, Madden, Fight Night, Street Fighter, Devil May Cry, etc...all as exclusives. think about how many ppl would buy that.

Sega is barely even a top 10 publisher.

"I don't have time to play video games anymore, but if I did, I would definitely choose the PlayStation 3 instead of the 360" - President Barack Obama

Microsoft has too much money..... unfortunately that means they will always be there............

"Wii60" was all PR talk for fanboys who really think loyalism goes beyond business and money.  Microsoft marketing this time was good with fanboy psychology.  Square and Enix teamed up - "bitter enemies" in the gaming industry in Japan at the time (Enix wasn't as known outside of Japan).  Let's not forget Sony and MS are companions in the PC / Windows industry.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Conservatives:  Pushing for a small enough government to be a guest in your living room, or even better - your uterus.

Sony will drop out way before MS will....Ms has tons of cash to throw away, whilst Sony doesn't...so i believe no matter what Sony does MS will eventually succeed and kick Sony out of the videogame market...

So unless Sony somehow becomes as rich as MS then there is no chance in hell in them lasting longer

Its like sex...Sony is trying all these enhancers to get them from prematurely ejaculating, while MS is pure beast and can last forever :P

Not that this will happen, but I'd like to see both of them drop out. Xbox 360 is my favourite console this generation (Wii slightly behind), but I just want to see a single format for game consoles. I hate having to decide which particular version of a game to buy, having to cart my system to a friend's place if they have a different console, etc.

That said, if I had to pick one to drop out, it would be Sony. True, Microsoft also lost billions in the last generation, but only in the Xbox division. The company as a whole was extremely profitable, which is not the case for Sony this generation at all.

Also, while the damage is not as severe as once thought, the Playstation brand name has been severely crippled this generation.

Finally, on a more personal level, while I own a PS3, I hope they burn in hell, as neither Microsoft or Nintendo, in their worst hours, ever insulted me and you, the consumers.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?
