US history: We saved Europe from utter annihilation 3 times (incl Cold War) and are the world's hyperpower.

You forget that half the countries in Europe have been hyperpowers at some point. Hell, get Britain at the height of it's empire and compare it to America today. Go on lol.

I mean European countries I would classify as hyperpowers at some point would be Russia, Germany, Portugal, Holland and France.

But seriously, Hyperpowers come and go, next it will be China or India or someone after you guys.

When did Russia become a European country?

It's Eurasian, but to be honest I always get the feeling it is far more European than asian.

The funny thing about World History (from what I've learned) is that it really really focuses on only certain places during certain times. I also never remember hearing anything about South America or any of the Asian countries in World History, besides China back in their hayday.

I love US history, and I love history from all the other civilizations that exist/used to exist.

That being said, I've hated most of my history classes. The teachers just do an absolutely horrible job at making History fun and engaging.

When did Russia become a European country?

It is Europe and asia.

European Russia refers to the western areas of Russia that lie within Europe, comprising roughly 3,960,000 km², and spanning across 40% of Europe. Its eastern border is defined by the Ural mountains and in the South it is defined by the border with Kazakhstan. This area includes Moscow and St. Petersburg, the two largest cities of Russia.

Roughly 78% of the entire Russian population lives in European Russia,

The USA has no or little history. What they call history we call modern events lol. But seriously it only has a two hundred+ years of real history.

British history is jam packed full of stuff, but to justify it I'm going to go with European history as just British history would make little sense without the rest of Europe. Italy, France, Germany, Spain, it's been one hell of a ride.

Now as for people of historical importance I'm afraid no-one can beat the British.

To say that the USA has little or no History is being a liitle naive.  Oddly enough I am trying to think of something that the British has done in the last hundred years or so of any importance at all.

BTW, your last comment is full of lulz.

It only started in 1773 with the Boston Tea Party. And the US only became significant on the world stage in the 20th century?

Just out of interest I thought I would post some territories of empires, just as a discussion point...

British Empire

Porugese empire

Dutch empire

German empire

Ottoman Empire (Turkey basically)

Roman empire

French Empire

Spanish empire

I'm having trouble of thinking what the USA did over 100 years ago. I mean in country terms, you guys are still young really.

Besides Britain has done sh!t loads in the last hundred years, in fact we had a little thing called the British empire, the height of which was about 100 years ago, you may have heard of it.
