The $399 price tag is expensive but it looks more appealing than the PS3 for the same price. Or even the $499 PS3.

I'll pick one up when the price drops to $250
(all jokes aside, this Elite bundle does seem a bit on the pricey side, BUT this bundle does have 2 awesome games, and it's the Elite...tempting, tempting...

The Pro has always been the best selling model. Core model didn't sell at all and the Arcade only started to sell in decent numbers after the $199 price drop. Most consumers see the $279 Pro sitting on the shelf and notice that a hard drive is $99 and just get the Pro.
