Forums - Nintendo - For everyone complaining about us NINTENDIANS saying "It will have legs"...

Some people will complain about a perfect day being too perfect.

Interesting numbers. Slow and steady wins the race.

I am sure this thread will draw some hate from people. But whatever.

slowly but surely

Very nice examples majin

There are many more examples but these show why the whole 'Nintendo legs/evergreen' sales pattern isn't just some fanboy protection device.

Are there any examples of this on the PS3 and 360.Just out of curiosity.

Kung Fu Panda (360)

First Week - 16k

LTD - 2.82m (Most likely due to bundling though)

Sega Superstars Tennis (360)

First Week - 21k

LTD - 1.98m (Another bundle)

SingStar (PS3)

First Week - 55k

LTD - 0.82m

Just a quick go through, but from what I've seen I'd probably say not really.  It would help if we could define how much a game has to sell to not be considered low first.

Kingdom Hearts 3 Bet: If Kingdom Hearts 3 becomes a multiplaform title/is not Wii exclusive then I will be banished from this land for 1 week and sing my praises to those who have proved themselves to be more intelligent than I.http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/RDBRaptor/rdbraptor_sig16.jpg%5B/IMG%5D">

Viva Pinata (360)

First Week - 38k

LTD - 1.45m

They happen on the HD consoles. It's just a lot more common on the Wii and DS.

What is interesting of the five examples on HD consoles listed

Two were bundles (which skews things)
Two were casual games -- more like those found on the Wii.
One was a traditional game -- Uncharted.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

I thought about including the Call of Duty series, but while it has insane legs, it also has solid launches on the HD consoles. I'm sure more examples could be found.
