Forums - Gaming - Was there ever a time when you almost stopped gaming?

I didn't purchase many new games in the period from 1999-2002. I mainly played older N64 games during that time. I got a Gamecube at the end of 2002 but I didn't play it all that much. I really got back into console gaming with the Wii (launch! Nov 2006) and then the PS3 (Oct 2008).

Yes. Well, console games anyways. The last 1-2 years of the PS2/GC/Xbox generation I pretty much stopped playing games. I had a GC with a bunch of games and a PS2 with 2-3 games, but I pretty much stopped buying games because no good games were coming out for the GC any more.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Not that I can think of. I did stop handheld gaming during the GBA era, but thats about as close as I got.

Nope.

I completely missed out on the 5th gen to spend all my money on booze, women and guitars. The Gamecube brought me back.

WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3

Perhaps 4 to 8 months back when I got heavily into Movies and TV shows and already being quite deep in anime. Now I think I balance things quite well.

I stopped at 2006, because I just bought a 360, found out that it was bad, so I was waiting for a ps3.

I stopped gaming just a little bit after the Dreamcast died. The last games I remember were playing Onimusha and the MGS 2 demo that came with Zone of the Enders on the PS2. My brother gave me his Gamecube but I never really used it until Wind Waker came out. I tried playing it in large chunks and then dropped it for months on end. Basically it was Resident Evil 4 and X-Men Legends that got me back into gaming in early 2005. After that I got Tales of Symphonia and Killer 7, and then started backtracking through the GC library. Then Shadow of the Colossus came out and I decided I needed a PS2. I've been back ever since that time.

Its good to have you back, now be a true gamer and get cod4 on the ps3!
