Dude, those percentages make no sense. Where are u coming up with percentages for most of those variables? You're telling me SEGA follows that strategy or every publisher follows it?

Employees don't get a percentage of what the game sells. They also get paid periodical wages not after the game starts selling.

And have u every heard of Fixed Costs & Variable Costs?

How old are u?

no duh employees dont get it. but sega the company would and use that money to pay their employees. i' m also old enough to know how to spell you.

No duh?

According to u "25% (aka $15) goes to pay the art and design guys."

So if a game bombs SEGA only pays the design artists 25% of what the game sells? But if a game sells millions of copies SEGA will still use 25% of that money to pay it's design artists? Is this honestly how u think businesses are run?

Yakuza 3 was heavily advertised in Japan right?
Was Kenzan heavily advertised to? Advertising ain't cheap guys.

if a game bombs the company obviously takes a loss. are you seriously not grasping this concept? SEGA spends X amount for development. now those guys are paid off sega gets 27 dollars per copy sold back for being the dev studio. it doesnt go to the developers. this is an easy concept to grasp. and since the devs are paid off if they dont get back the money they used to make the game they are out of luck. you make it seem like the devs dont get paid till the game goes on sale

Y3 had some great ads and Kenzan had some much less so.

Kenzan sold well enough to get Yakuza 3 on PS3. Yakuza 3 sold well enough, despite being much more expensive with lots of ads, is profitable.

Actually along with all the employee percentages were also publisher percentages, "1.5% (just $1) goes into the publisher's pocket."  So it was actually you who makes it seem like employees & publishers are getting paid at the same time.

And looking at that qoute, how are publishers taking one dollar if they haven't broken even yet?  I can see why noname stopped arguing with u a while ago.

^ he stopped arguing cause he started looking silly.

And that's my point. Kenzan sold well. Just irritated at the negativity here.

half of kenzan was also developed fo r the ps2. dev cost wouldnt be the same as a ps3 title and being a spin off the budget was probablly less to begin with or else it probably wouldnt of gotten the green light

Come on people let is stop attacking yakuza 3, at least it broke even and of course is now in profit. Madworld however............damn
