Forums - Gaming - Is Sakaguchi HAPPY at Mistwalker? If Not....should he return to S-E & FF?

I wonder if he is even making a game now, people under the impression he is making another 360 game but I seriously doubt MS if funding him again after looking at the sales of previous games.

 

 Lost Odyssey did pretty well for itself. I wouldn't call it bomb after bomb... when his console games have actually moved 360 consoles in Japan.

Plus the games he made weren't trouble, why does it seem a lot of people are bitter about his current career choice.

 Nah, I doubt I would be. Why would I be cursing myself for leaving S-E with the likes of Wada fucking things up?
I wonder how happy Kitase is, obviously Nomura is happy.

Actually lets make this into a post. I wonder two years down the line, when Platinum games are quiet, people will be asking if all of them should go back to Capcom. They left exactly as Sakaguchi left and they most likely won't have that great of sucess right away.

Yep He is in charge and is proly under contract to MS...With the Cases of Blue Dragon and LO those could be considered trial Projects and with the exception of Toryiyama were defently( I would assume since everything is new) inexpensive

I don't thinkwe have seen the last of Mistwalker or Sakaguchi...and hopefully tonight they have something new..

I don't think it has yet sunk into people's head about what happened to Sakaguchi........the man was SACKED. Wada was definitely not telling him everything would be fine and he should just worry about making the next flagship FF game, the man was told to go or was treated like shit ala forced to go.

In conclusion Sakaguchi was no longer wanted at Square, if he comes back to SE it will be to teach other how to run a business to the ground with one film. LO and BD were not cheap games, games were cut in price extremely early so no, HD owners will not see another game from him.

Don't worry, MS will spend the money for the better investment of an Itagaki first party studio.

Looking at what Nomura is making and had made as of late, he really would be in the position to wipe his ass with money. As long as he is at SE along with Kitase SE will always be number 1.

As a huge fan I am extremely happy with his choice in MistWalker. LO is my favorite RPG so far this gen so I only hope he is happy and continues to produce quality titles.

Does he get to produce titles on his own terms.....Yes. Is he getting paid well to do something he enjoys in this worldwide shitty economy......Yes. Is he the head of his own studio.......Yes. All of these things make me believe that he is doing just fine.

I assume that he is happy, but just like this thread, it is completely based on just that........assumptions.

So we're discussing the happiness of a man none of us know personally for reasons were not sure he's affected by? Ok. I'll play.

Yes. With no knowledge of this man and what his ambitions and goals in life are, I will proclaim he misses his former employer and is kicking himself nightly for leaving. Also his puppy died last week, so that's not helping matters any.
