Ah yes I remember that. I still don't get people's fascination about that game.

 He's playing on the fact that

SM128 had 128 marios

SMG had 1 mario (well, tecnically 2... or 3. Possibly 4 depending on how you count it)

1 is 1/128th of 128.

And yes, SM128 looked pretty dull.

As soon as I saw the gap getting shorter, I knew it was a joke.

Mario 128 was never a game. Just as the Link vs Ganon battle was never a game. Both were technical demonstrations.

Mario 128 did become the inspiration for Mario Galaxy and the game did start development on the GC but only so much as the assets and early game engine but not because it was ever intended to actually be a GC game. It was to be a Wii (Revolution) title from the very inception.


On topic: Bravo. I love social experiments and the ration of those that read the first post to those that commented based solely on the thread title is amusing.

I really don't think thats the case. I just think that Nintendo likes to change things up. I think that they can have one generation, where one console has more casual games than core and the other console has more core games than casual.

I was joking; the whole post was a parody and debunking of the comlaints some people have with the wii.

Nintendo should go Madden and realese an annual intineration for Mario just keeping the minimal changes....... just for the lulz
