Mario 128 was never a game. Just as the Link vs Ganon battle was never a game. Both were technical demonstrations.
Mario 128 did become the inspiration for Mario Galaxy and the game did start development on the GC but only so much as the assets and early game engine but not because it was ever intended to actually be a GC game. It was to be a Wii (Revolution) title from the very inception.
On topic: Bravo. I love social experiments and the ration of those that read the first post to those that commented based solely on the thread title is amusing.
