Forums - Nintendo - Madworld impressions ... it is not AAA

You definitely need to give this game more of a chance. And also, watch the comic book cut scenes. Some of the story is animated, but the comic book elements are good too, and you'll be robbed of the story if you skip them. (Which at first, you might think there is no story. Stick with it.)

Mad World is easily my favorite beat'em up game since Streets of Rage.

Around the Network

If sales are anything to go by, most Wii gamers seem to agree with the OP. I haven't played it myself, I actually think it looks rather cool so I'll try to get my hands on it sometime.
Is The Conduit the savior of Wii "hardcore" games now, then? (Probably is, and the PS3's savior will launch right after, you'll see! ).

PS: How's the sound? Score and sfx, I mean?

The sound is the one rating that is consistantly through the roof in every review. It's quite good.

I don't where the "AAA" and madworld falling into one sentence ever game from. Thirsty wii gamer hype i suppose.

I never expected it to be AAA, but it's a pretty decent game.

I mostly disagree with you.

The cutscenes were interesting and I thought the story via comic book was cool.

The controls were a little confusing at first, but by the end of the first stage I was clued in.

Text was too small.

Definitely a game you need to give a bit more of a chance. You can actually make the kills more dynamic if you actually try for that. The whole point is to get creative, use your time and don't rush to the boss.
