Forums - PC - Starcraft 2 is too complicated for most players

Oh, and on topic, most units in the original had special powers

Terrans had stim packs (did anyone ever actually use these??), vulture mines, siege mode/normal mode transformation, cloak, yamamoto guns, nuclear missiles from ghosts. even the buildings had special powers (fly), heaps of stuff from the observation balloons

Protoss had
Form archon/Dark Archon, fire the scarab things from the tank dealie, purchase inteceptor, templar magic, the shield battery had a special power

Zerg had burrow, the queens had something, as did the ones that added to your pop cap. Also probably other things that I never cared about cos I didn't play as Zerg

That's a lot of special powers right there.

I prefer TBS because victory is almost 100% based upon my ability to out think and outmaneuver the enemy.

RTS rewards fast reflexes, great hotkey'ing, and lightning quick unit/base management. It doesn't matter if you could possibly out think me tactically in RTS if I can setup my base and build my army twice as fast and overrun you.

That said, I'm happy with the direction Starcraft 2 is heading. It is what it is and that's part of why people enjoy it so much. People complaining should possibly consider that maybe Starcraft 2 just isn't for them.

oh i get it wont be for "casual gamers" then?

of course not :)

Eh? Of course casual gamers will play and enjoy Starcraft, it's not as if when you play yout are automatically pit against an A class tournement player.

There should be a turn based option for true strategy. During your turn you get to perform 10 mouse clicks.

Pro games seem to be find tech that opponent has not built defense against yet then exploit.

Isn't that how to win any strategic encounter? Exploit your enemies weakness?

If you want a TBS, play a TBS.

Umm..... that'snot strategy? What do you do in TBS? Not exploit enemy weaknesses? You must be a pretty bad Strategy game player overall if you don't....

hen research somethign that exploits his weakness while dong the best not to get fucked over by his temporary advantage. Seriously.... There's no luck involved here jsut strategy. If i't's that bad, jsut go play Halo Wars.

Well, it's not luck, but the fact that some people can't move their mouse nearly as quick as other people (like me, I have a  muscular connection illness, so my reaction time is heavily slowed by that) means that they're essentially chanceless just because of that.

Still, if you're one of those people, you can just rewamp your style to defensive (which works sometimes for me in SC) or just playing another game.
