The FINAL FANTASY bombshell announcement caused ps3 sony fans worldwide to shit their pants and cry like a bunch of babies screaming "versus is still ps3 exclusive" spinning the damage control.
Nobody expected that bobmshell cuz FINAL FANTASY was playstations baby. It was a coup for microsoft and it was the most talked about and most memorable part of e3 2008

Yes, the Final Fantasy XIII announcement was huge and caused some delicious meltdowns. But without that Microsoft really had a pretty weak conference, IMO. Sony's wasn't as spectacular, but I think was stronger overall. It just got overshadowed by that one bombshell announcement that caused so many people to lose perspective.
Mind you, I might be singing a different toon if I could actually play that South Park XBLA game right now.
