 Depends really, right now I think pricecut will be more effective, but if this wasn't bad timing for a high priced console machine, i would think slim would be better.

Nope, not even in a Sony fanboys wildest dream. The equivalent of a $100 price cut in Japan would however allow sales to always remain over 20k per week during the whole of the year.

I doubt price drops will be consistent enough for 40k+ too long.

i think so... FF 13 + Versus a likely to give the ps3 a monster hunter 2 freedom G boost. but only coupled with a price cut.

probably will sell more than that for months.
