For the past couple weeks the PS3 has beat the Wii in sales in Japan. If this keeps up, the PS3 could start to catch up with the Wii in Japan. So my question is will the Wii be able to get its week-by-week lead back and secure its position as the primary home console of Japan, or will the PS3 make a comeback of sorts?
I think the main factors in which consoles win in Japan rely pretty heavily on which console has an abundancy of JRPGs. This year the Wii had many JRPGs announced for it, such as Arc of Fantasia and Tales of Grace. Though recently some JRPGs have been announced for the PS3 like End of Eternity and the must-have Tales of Vesperia. Also note that the all-powerful Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XIII Versus are coming to PS3 in the future.
And the reason I think the 360, though having many JRPGs itself, does not sell as well as the Wii and Ps3 in Japan: Microsoft isn't a Japanese company.
What do you think?
