half of gamers dont care about the ps3 or the 360 or the psp. they just want a wii or a ds . they dont care about the price that much.

So reading business double-speak means the PS3 IS making a small profit on every sale, which it probably wasn't in Q4 '08. But Stringer isn't about to come out and say it otherwise that will just massively raise the calls for a price cut NOW at a time when they want to enjoy making a bit of money out of the hardware sales before launching into a bid to reclaim the ground they lost since Aug '08, and possibly make further in-roads into a greater market share.

Price cut '09 still very much on the cards, is the way I read it.

I don't see how they can afford a price cut, even a 50 dollar one. Say, they are about to break even and then introduce a 50$ cut. Then, after selling 10 million units by the end of the year they will lose $500 million. That's just way too fucking much.
