With this trailer being at the end of Crisis Core for the PSP, does this not indicate that it will be a remake for the PSP?

With all my support towards PSP I would be extremely disappointed if S-E decided to develop remake for PSP. There is not enough room for such game on PSP. UMD is definitely too small and PSP is way too weak to provide really new approach to this game. PS3 is an obvious choice.

Well, 1 and 2 have been remade on the gameboy and PSP, 3 and 4 on the DS.  The game could be remade on the PSP and look and feel significantl better than the PS1 version from 10 years ago.  I understand what you mean about doing it on say the PS3.  But with the PS3 getting FFXIII and FFXIII Versus amongst others, then the PSP is a good choice IMHO.

Crisis Core WILL demonstrate, how popular FFVII is still, and solid sales of CC could easily demonstrate to SE that the PSP is a safe bet for the remake.

Seeing as FFVII was THE game for the PS1, I cannot see SE moving the game to another gaming brand platform, so a remake should either appear on the PS3 or PSP.  I doubt they would make a remake for the PS2.

Prediction (June 12th 2017)

Permanent pricedrop for both PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro in October.

PS4 Slim $249 (October 2017)

PS4 Pro $349 (October 2017)

There is allways a 2 UMD choice to for a game . Anyways , I hope the game will brake the 300k first day sales in Japan , and I expect it having much batter legs than MHF2 ( not that it has bad ones ) . The PSP has a chance to outsell the DS for a week , but Im not sure that the PSP2000 will be a shure bet for first week sales .

I don't see a problem with a 2 UMD game for the PSP.  But we will get a better idea of whether it could be done on the 1 UMD when we get to see how big or small Crisis Core is.  Alot of the CGI scenes in the original game could be redone as realtime scenes similar to the scenes we are seeing from CC.

MHP2 is still healthily selling over 6k units each week.  I would love for CC to do similarly at this stage in MH lifecycle.  It's just under 1.4m in Japan alone.

Nice - can't wait to see 1st-day sales figures!

I sense an insanely high number, btw neoGAF discovered that Square really is re-making FFVII as the secret ending for Crisis Core shows the tech demo and says play FFVII next. Square did have several unannounced titles.

we are all taking this as if its a confirmed remake of FFVII, couldnt it just mean they are advising the player to play FFVII as it is vital to the storyline?

A remake of FFVII would work very well on the PSP though, data size isnt an issue at all, remember the 3 cds of the PS1 game had a large amount of dupe data to reduce disk swapping, plus video compression has come a long way since PS1 days, that was before even the mpeg2 codec was in common home use. Modern codecs are atleast twice as effective now.

... and it started pretty descently in US.

I predict it will sell 8 million copies in its lifetime world wide.

That could be it but why would you have to finish the game twice to see it?

Yeah , i was pretty amazed when MHF2 sold 70k first week in the US . At this rate the game could sell 2 million in its lifetime :o
