Morals schmorals. I choose hypothetical Company A.

I would pick A.

I would like to see all of the cancer patients of the world receive affordable treatment, absolutely.  However, an even bigger goal that I have in my lifetime is to provide for my loved ones, including my family, friends, fiance and, eventually, my children.  I couldn't pass up an opportunity to do that in good conscience.

I'm sure you could reason with company B to sell the drug for £10 profit to go to you, to reward you for being such a genius.

Company B of course.

I'd be famous and the whole world would love me. I'd totally get like a billion hits on my blog. I wouldn't be known as the genius who cured cancer, but I'd be known as the genius who cured cancer and gave it away for free.

I wouldn't mind getting like 50 cents a cure though, or a book deal. But if it came down to saving lives, I'd prefer accessibility over profitability any day of the week.

^^ Thats true, you would get a load of people wanting interviews and you could make money off that, rather than making the patients suffer.

Company C, some profit but also saves a lot of people.

B probably if I had to choose but really...

I'd choose to just make it public knowledge, the idea, cure whatever, I'd post it on the internet, send it to every major university in as many worlds nations, to as many high profile world leaders and scientists.

No advantage to anyone, just a cure.

Now if the Noble Prize came my way at the end of it....

I was just thinking, what would happen to the hospitals, especially in a privatized health care industry such as it is in America, if I found a cure for cancer and chose option A? What would happen to the students in the medical school? What would be the incentive to be a doctor?

Company A, then give a third of the money I earn to charity so i don't feel like a total ass

B.

If i just came to some glorius conclusion walking down the street i didn't really earn it.

Assuming that's the only options i can take.

Though there are always more answers.
